A review of Tesco Stores Ltd by Anonymous written on Saturday 27th of June 2020
This store has lost control of customers - it’s still meant to be 2 metres. I visit after 6.30 when it should be quieter but in the last couple of weeks there is no check on how many people are entering the store - no queuing. There is disinfectant and hand sanitiser available after you enter the store but this causes a bottleneck in the entrance with more customers coming in behind you. In the popular aisles, like the ice cream aisle in this weather, it is mayhem. They have also now opened all 12 self-checkouts which makes it impossible to keep even 1 m apart and there are never many checkouts open - no quick check out till. I just don’t feel safe. It’s not the staff’s fault, it’s tesco policy and management. Large families block the aisles, children are running free, and people reach in right next to you. The young feel they are safe and have no thought for others who might be more vulnerable. Is it too much to ask for 1 member of staff to stand at the entrance and ensure that a limited no of customers are in the store at any one time and suggest that family members wait in the car whenever possible. We’re not back to normal yet. Sainsbury’s is looking more inviting even though it is much further to go. They always have someone monitoring the one out one in rule so it never gets overcrowded..
