LOUGHBOROUGH CHAMBER OF TRADE AND COMMERCE

The Loughborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce will actively lead and promote the development of an enterprising and successful business community within the Borough of Charnwood.' Mission Objectives and Key Result Areas

To understand the needs and opinions of both public and private sectors, thereby identifying the opportunities for economic growth and prosperity within the Borough.

  • To actively canvas the views of our membership and to give support where ever possible.
  • To continue to work with Charnwood Borough Council and the Economic Development Sub Committee, supporting the initiatives where appropriate.

To represent the business community by shaping and driving forward business issues within the Borough, to effect positive change.
  • To actively lobby Charnwood Borough Council and the County Council on the relevant business issues affecting our members in the Borough.
  • To work with Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Association of British Chambers of Commerce to lobby the Central Government on the relevant business issues affecting our members and their interests.

To encourage the involvement of business leaders within the Borough who can facilitate debate and procure the changes required.

  • To work with Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce & Industry to encourage business leaders to play a more active role in shaping the future of both the Borough and County.
  • To work with Charwood Borough Council's Economic Development Sub Commitee as a consultee to develop future strategies.
  • To actively support Enterprise Charnwood.


To promote active partnership in all business issues, and to actively work with other agencies to stimulate business activities in the Borough. Partnerships to be supported:
  • Town Centre Management
  • Loughborough Town Partnership-SRB
  • Loughborough Partnership-CCTV
  • Business Link (Loughborough) Ltd
  • Charnwood Tourism Asssociation
  • Enterprise Charnwood
  • Charnwood Forest Housing Association
  • Environmental Committee/Agenda
  • Any other Partnership that the executive Committee feel that may benefit our membership
To facilitate opportunities for interaction between members.
  • To provide a monthly bulletin in association with Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
  • To hold an annual Cocktail Party.
  • To hold an annual Dinner.
  • To actively support Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce & Industries programme of Business Buffets in our region.
  • To work with Business Link (Loughborough) Ltd to develop a series of Business Talks on issues relevent to our membership.
  • To produce an annual Handbook/Diary.
